Gosh 'Silver Rose' Forever Metallic Eyeshadow Stick!

It's almost Christmas! I'm sitting here in Christmas Eve by the fire watching some pretty crappy TV and thought why not throw out another little review for you guys just in time for the big day! I've never really tried anything from Gosh but last time I was in Superdrug I picked up a few things, a couple of which are absolutely amazing!

I'm a fan of quick to apply eye products, aka - slap on and go. In the morning before work I don't have time to blend out a hundred eyeshadows, I little rally need something I can throw on that makes me look like I put the effort in. (I have a post about my favourites coming soon) this recent purchase have made the cut. I don't think it's left my makeup bag since I got it - which is saying something. This shade is a pretty, beige colour with plenty shimmer. It has a very metallic effect which brightens up my dull complexion in the morning. It glides onto the lid like a dream and a quick blend round the edges leaves an eyeshadow look that gives the impression of a lot of time and effort. It lasts all day on me with a primer with very little fade and no creasing. I'll definitely be picking up more of these from Gosh!

I hope you all have an amazing Christmas! I'll be back soon with another post for you guys!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight Kit!

It's getting quite close the Christmas now and I'm super excited! This little kit is a great one if you're looking to try out the shimmering skin perfectors without committing to a full purchase, or for anyone like me it would make a great stocking filler. It's super easy and available to pick up from Space NK too.

Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfecters are super popular among bloggers and makeup artists and this little kit of 3 is perfect. I love how handy and small they are, super easy to chuck in a makeup bag and take with you on the go. You get 3 shades: Opal, Champagne Gold and Pearl. I believe Champagne Gold is an exclusive this Christmas but I could be wrong. I favourite out of the three is Opal, which I believe is the most popular in powder form too. To be honest I'm not usually a fan of cream highlighters as I have quite oily skin and powder and creams can clash every now and then. There's something about these that just blend into the skin seamlessly though, either mixed with foundation to add a subtle glow or tapped on the high points of the face for a more targeted sheen. I find they blend well over powder too which is unusual for such a creamy product. I also like these mini sizes for the doe-for applicator, it makes it super easy to precisely add product. An all round winner for me and I sense more Becca's products will be making their way into my makeup stash!

Soap & Glory Eau-La-La Christmas Gift Set!

Oh my goodness! Have you guys smelt the Orangeasm scent from S&G? It's relatively new and my goodness it's beautiful. If you love a bit of citrus or know a friend who does then you definitely need to get your hands on this gift set!

For a bargain of £16 you get your hands on the shower gel, body butter and body spray from this gorgeous tangerine scent. It's super zesty and I love how the shower gel makes me feel fresh and awake first thing in the morning. Complete with the super moisturising body butter my skin is left super nourished and smells fabulous. I also really like the body spray, it's good for the days that you don't want to wear a full on perfume but don't just want to smell like washing powder. Am I the only one who feels that way? Haha. Regardless, this set is a great gift for any beauty lover who loves a citrus scent! Boots usually have all their Christmas gift sets on 3 for 2 at this time of year too so be sure to check out what else you can grab!

Have you checked out the Orangeasm range?

New Things: Glasses!

Heeeeey everyone! December is here already, which is quite terrifying. Christmas is about 2 weeks away and my present buying game is not strong this year at all. However I did recently pick up some new glasses and I thought I'd share them with you. Specsavers have 2 for 1 on their designer frames which in my opinion is a total bargain! I hate my old glasses so even though my prescription hadn't changed i decided to just bite the bullet and splash out on some glasses I'll actually wear.

I was having a pretty crappy hair day when I took these photos but we'll just ignore that.. The frames I went for are both by the brand Osiris which I hadn't really heard too much about to be honest. I thought that they only made shoes but apparently glasses too! My old glasses were quite small, metal frames which felt really heavy on my face. This time I went for bigger lenses, so I don't feel like I'm looking over or under them like before. The plastic frames on both make them feel super light to wear that I hardly notice they're there. Since it was 2 for 1 I went for a plain pair, which are a dark tortoiseshell (C90) which I think suits me much better than black. The other pair (B69) are a bright, almost neon red that I'm so in love with! Not only is the colour amazing but the glasses are a really nice shape too. When one pair is free, why not try something different right? Being a daily glasses wearer it's nice to feel like I want to wear them rather than it being a burden! Im Super happy with both pairs and I'd recommend anyone to try something out of their comfort zone for a change!

What are your thoughts on changing up glasses?

Lush Christmas Picks!

Every year I go to Lush and end up picking up a few things.. Or more than just a few things! I always love the Christmas collection and some of my all time fabricates are available at this time of year.

I picked up quite a few things, some of which are totally new to me and some which I've used time and time again. Yearly favourites of mine include 'Snow White' which is the big, white bath bomb which smells like apples! It's super sweet and turns the bath water pink. I also always pick up the 'Christmas Penguin' which it so adorable! It has a fresh, clean smell that is very relaxing in the bath. The 'Christmas Penguin'is also a bubble bar so you don't have to lob the whole thing in at once to get some pretty bubbles - just a small amount is enough. My last yearly pick is the 'Magic Wand' which is a pretty pink star that you swirl in your bath to create bubbles and pink bath water. It can be used more than once and has the wonderfully sweet smell of the famous 'Snow Fairy'. New to me is year is the 'Northern Lights' a bright purple bath bomb which has a kind of lavender scent, I'm excited to try this one! I bet it turns the water a super bright colour. I also picked up the 'Dashing Santa' which has a beautiful citrus scent, the lady in Lush told me he has something on his feet which when you place him in the bath it makes him look like he's running! How cute. I snagged a 'Candy Mountain' bubble bar which is a super adorble pink cone with some shimmer too. All you need to do it crumble a little in the bath and its bubbles galore! I found the super cute 'Butter Bear' hiding in my local Lush and instantly fell in love, a kind of vanilla/Shea butter scent that's sweet yet warming at the same time. This little cutie doesn't make many bubbles but he left my skin feeling super soft and moisturised! 'Santa Claus' is a classics which I'm yet to try! He has a mandarin scent and apparently makes the bath water green! Last but not least I picked up the 'Drummers Drumming' bubble wand which is so cute and has little bells attached! It has a lovely sweet scent that reminds me of some kind of sweetie from my childhood! Delicious.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows! Peach Smoothie, Bitten, Cocoa Bear,Cosmopolitan & Creme Brulee!

Girls (and guys too) listen up! Why it's taken me so long to get my hands on some makeup geek Eyeshadows I really don't know! I've heard everyone rave about them for so long so I finally caved and picked up a few shades. Mostly from Jaclyn Hill's recommendation!

Shades shown clockwise; Peach Smoothie, Cocoa Bear, Cosmopolitan, Creme Brulee, Bitten.

I picked up five shades, all of which are really warm in tone. Four of them are matte and one (cosmopolitan) is shimmer. I though that for the price they are there might be a slight compromise on quality but there totally isn't. All the shades are buttery soft and blend onto the skin so beautifully it's unreal. Peach Smoothie is a little dusty and if you're not careful you can end up with a lot of product on your brush really quickly but other than that I can't fault these eyeshadows at all. I love how the shades I picked up are nice and warm in tone, I think they're perfect for this time of year for some nice warm smokey eyes. I was also pleasantly surprised with how quickly they arrived too, I live in Scotland and was expecting to have to wait a good few weeks for my package to arrive. To my delight it arrived in about 7 days which I thought was pretty impressive. With the exchange rate it works out that these eyeshadows are about £6 each which is an absolute steal. I added some sticky back magnetic tape (badly) to the bottom of my shadows are just popped them in my Mac palette where they fit nicely.
I really love these eyeshadows and I'll definitely be picking up more. I think they might even give my Mac shadows a run for their money!

Nars Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret!

Being the lipstick junkie that I am, any Christmas lip set always draws me in. I already have a love for the Nars lip pencils so when I saw this set on Space NK I added it to my basket immediately! Also, Nars always bring out amazing sets at Christmas time and this one is no exception!

Packaged in a gorgeous, hard plastic box comes five Nars lip pencils. Two mattes and three stains, all of which are colours to die for. Cruella - which is a classic - is a fabulous dark, vampy red shade which looks gorgeous at this time of year. Yu is a bright fuscia pink that's amazing, I think it'll be perfect for the summer time. Iberico is a beautiful orangey red shade which I can't wait to wear! I don't own any colour like this so I really want to try it out. Torres Del Paine is a pretty peach colour which is great for everyday. My favourite is Descanso, which is a really easy to wear nude. I think I need to sharpen it already! All the pencils wear like a dream too, the mattes glide on with amazing pigmentation but don't dry out the lips and the satins smooth onto the lips and leave a gorgeous sheen. All round this set is an absolute favourite for me, I highly recommend it. It's still available on the Space NK website but I get the feeling it'll be sold out very soon!

Soap & Glory 'The Perfect Ten' Eyeshadow Palette!

Beauty lovers, get prepared. The Christmas sets are here and there are some crackers this year. I've picked up a few things already one of them being this gorgeous palette from Soap & Glory, which in my opinion is a must have.

Like the name suggests, this palette contains 10 eye shadows. It has pretty impressive packaging too, a slim cardboard box that even has a mirror on the inside. The shadows themselves are an array of pretty neutral colours, totally up my alley. What I love the most is that it up even includes some matte shades - something that isn't usually too common in a drugstore palette. All the eye shadows are brilliantly pigmented, even the mattes, and they all blend seamlessly too. For £16 I'd recommend you pick this bad boy up before it sells out. It's definitely going to give my naked palettes a run for their money. My favourite shades are Minky, Aubersheen, and Brownie simply because they're gorgeous and I'm pretty sure they'd suit every skin tone and eye colour. The only bad thing about this palette is that it's limits edition for Christmas.. Get your running shoes on and speed down to Boots Asaph if you want to get your hands on it!

Lime Crime Lazuli Eyeliner!

This one might not be for everyone but it's definitely something to give a go if you want to try something new! I've wanted to try a blue eyeliner for the longest time after the trend earlier this year but I was so scared I couldn't pull it off. Another problem was that I couldn't find d the prefect blue that I was after... Until Lime Crime stepped in...

So tiny yet so powerful. This tiny tube packs a punch and certainly makes you stand out. I found the best way to wear blue eyeliner is with very nude eyes, a little definition in the crease and lots of mascara. A thin line of the perfect cobalt blue across the lashes turns any basic makeup look in to something bold and fun. As scared as I was to try this out I actually really loved it! Perhaps a little more appropriate in the summer months but I'll happily wear this all year round haha! The eyeliner itself is amazing, I'm a gel liner kind of girl so I found this wet, brush like formula and application a little trickier than what I'm used to but the brush is fine enough that I had enough control and precision to achieve the look I was going for. It lasted all day on my eyelids, even without primer - which is quite impressive considering how oily my lids are! All and all I was really impressed. For those of you wondering where to purchase Lime Crime here in the UK, I got this liner from Amazon and it was too pricey either.

Have you tried any Lime Crime products?

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer!

I love it when I come across a product that works really well that is pretty inexpensive. This one from  Maybelline hit the nail on the head for me in terms of concealer! I definitely recommend you check it out as its my new favourite and I've repurchased it a few times now!

For years I used the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer that everyone loves and adores here in the blogosphere. Sadly for me I found it much too drying under my eyes and it creased pretty bad too. Its great for concealing spots and redness around the face but its just not the 'does it all' for me. Maybelline Fit Me, however, is a beautiful concealer. It has a smooth, creamy consistency which blends in to the skin wonderfully. Its not drying and best of all it doesn't emphasise and dry patches and it doesn't crease under my eyes. For such an inexpensive concealer it really gives some of my high ends favourites a run for their money. It just blends into the skin so seamlessly and even when you build it up for super-high coverage it still doesn't look cakey. Its my new everyday staple and I highly recommend you give it a go, it comes in a good range of shades too!

MAC Sized To Go Pigments!

I love MAC pigments, but unfortunately they're not the cheapest product out there to buy. I was delighted to find out that they've taken out these mini sized pigments! they're so cute and whats even better is they only cost £10 instead of the regular price which is around £16.

I decided to pick up two shades in the sized to go tubes which are so adorable! They're glass with a matte black plastic lid which encases the product perfectly. I think the concept of having a mini size is so useful because I own some pigments in the full size and I really don't think I'll ever go through a whole pigment pot. I'll probably struggle to go through these mini sizes! Anyway, I picked up two pigments which I've had my eyes on for a while now: Rose and Blue Brown, both of which have a beautiful duo-chrome effect. Rose is a pretty pink colour with gold through it and blue brown is a chocolate brown which appears blue when it reflects light - so gorgeous! I need not mention how good the pigmentation or staying power of these is, after all they're MAC pigments - there are no faults in my opinion. I love applying these to the eyes with a wet brush as it minimises fall out and gives a much stronger colour pay off. Love!
