Soap & Glory!

I think I might be addicted to Soap & Glory! Everything smells amazing and also seems to work really well. I am impressed.

I realised I missed a few things out when I was taking pictures; such as the Clean On Me shower Gel, but I do love that also! It smells great and generally works as a good shower gel. :)

Heel Genius - Firstly I think thats an amazing name! haha, I've never really used any foot cream before as feet generally creep me out but I really like this. It smells fresh and it makes my feet soft - what more could anyone ask for!

Hand Food - This has marshmallow in it! How amazing is that! I think thats what makes it smell so good. I also believe this might be the secret ingredient which makes my hands soft..

Smoothie Star Body Milk - If I could consume this then I most definitely would - its like biscuits. Its also really moisturising, cant fault it.

Peaches and Clean - I use this in the shower.. on my face.. I like it... it smells nice..

The Righteous Butter - Even more moisturising than the body milk! Its for really dry skin which is great for this time of year when its cold and you're all dry and dull. I like the smell of this too - no surprise. I think it works really well, in fact, I think I might  like this better than the Body Shop body butters... we'll see..

Sugar Crush Body Scrub - PLEASE GO AND SMELL THIS! Its so nice, even my mum went out and bought like three jars of it! Its amazing and really works great. I find its good to use before shaving your  legs, I think it helps my legs stay smoother for longer. I LOVE IT.

I'm definitely addicted to Soap & Glory...

Things I've Been Loving Lately!

Here we go! Short notes on a whole bunch of stuff that I haven't been able to get enough of lately!

Lush Lip scrub in the flavour My Boy Lollipop, yes flavour! You can eat it! It smells good, tastes good and it works really well. I've never used a lip scrub before but I don't see myself trying any other ones because I'm so in love with this! The bright pink colour is also amazing right!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in the colour Honey. You might already know this is the most popular shade of this specific product and I can definitely see why! It's just a really nice pinky, natural kind of colour. I don't like the smell.. but thankfully you can't smell it once its applied. I think these are very similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks but the Revlon version is no where near as moisturising. I just love how easy they are to wear!

Max Factor Lipstick in Bewitching Coral. I'm not usually a lipstick person but I saw this and thought it was just such an amazing colour. To me, its like the perfect coral - not too orange! It just looks really pretty on and its pretty inexpensive.

Body Shop Beautifying Oil in Coconut. I use it on my hair and it smells amazing. It also makes my hair feel really soft which is what I hoped it would do! Not much to say apart from the fact I love it!

Max Factor Eye Brightening Mascara. Personally I think it does what it says on the tin! I feel it does brighten my eyes - not too significantly, but enough that I notice a difference at least.

M.A.C paint pot in Bare Study. Goes on wonderfully, looks great on its own or used as a base, doesn't crease and it lasts all day. Can't. Stop. Using. It!

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. It works great and its pretty cheap. I like it better than some of the more expensive powders I've used.

Aussie Take The Heat Leave-In Cream. This smells amazing and it makes my hair feel really soft, even if it didn't protect my hair from heat I would probably still use it haha!

Hopefully I will be posting more regularly shortly and look forward to my next post which will be about how I make my hair blonder!

Dealing with Acne

I know its been so long since I've posted here, forgive me, but I've genuinely been so busy lately! To get back into the swing of things I thought I'd start by talking about things I've tried to help with my acne and also my experience with them. Obviously everyone's skin reacts differently to different things so my opinion might be totally different to someone else's. The first 3 products were prescribed by my doctor, and I'm not saying you should go to your doctor to ask for any of these as they know best and will be able to suggest something that will work for you.

Anyway..

Pan Oxyl.. I persevered with this for so long. To begin with I thought this was great, it seemed to quickly help blemishes disappear. However, after using it for a while I began to see the problems. My skin became exceptionally dry when I used this, to the point it was flaking off. Gross, i know. I didn't really expect this considering I have quite oily skin. Also Pan Oxyl began to make my skin very red in the areas where I used it... Seems like my skin decided after a while that it didn't like this very much.. So I gave up after I stopped seeing good results.

Duac from the beginning was a total disaster. The first time I applied it was at night before I went to bed.. Woke up in the morning to find my skin was red, raised, dry, flakey and itchy where I had used this. The same thing happened to me when I tried this a few other times too, think I'm allergic or something.. yay.

Dalacin T is what I've been using most recently and it seems to be working a lot better. Unlike the other two creams which were peroxide based, Dalacin T is an anti-biotic for this skin to fight the bacteria which causes blemishes as opposed to drying them out. I find this does make my skin very, very oily but when I use it at night its not really a problem. I've definitely seen an improvement in my skin since using this and I am pleased that finally something seems to be working!

I also find that using an oil free moisturiser helps my skin too. This specific one is Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturiser - which I love. :)

Body Shop

Had a trip to The Body Shop not so long ago, heres what I'm liking..

The lip butters are absolutely amazing! Not only that but they're 4 for £10 at the moment along with a free bronze tin to store them in - which is rather cute. They have many different scents but these are the ones I decided to purchase, and they smell absolutely wonderful! I think I've fallen in love... and if you've read my older post about chap sticks then you'll know that I struggle with products for my lips because they're so dry. I can't usually wear lipgloss or lipstick, which sucks. I feel like these lip butters have actually helped heal my lips a little, they feel much softer and I feel like i don't have to use so much product on them anymore to make them feel like I can move them! They're amazing.

I've also been really liking the body mists because they're light and smell really fresh. I feel that sometimes perfume is too heavy so these mists are a great alternative for during the day. Unfortunately they seem to attract insects, especially wasps, but if I couldn't resist their smell then I don't see why it would be any different to them!

How to Spot FAKE M.A.C Eyeshadows

This is a REAL M.A.C eyeshadow...

This is a FAKE M.A.C eyeshadow..

So from my observation..

The real M.A.C eyeshadow generally feels much better quality compared to the fake one. The two eyeshadows, although they claim to be the same shade, look completely different. The packaging of the real eyeshadow is a slightly sparkly graphite colour, whereas the fake one is a solid black. The fake one also feels a lot heavier then the real one. On the top on the packaging M.A.C is printed much thicker on the fake one and the clear plastic which is slightly curved on the real one is flat on the fake one. The real eyeshadow has a graphite sticker on the bottom which has printed on it the colour and the texture (matt, pearl etc), the fake eyeshadow has a plain black sticker with another smaller sticker over the top which has the colour printed on it along with a number... (M.A.C would never do this). The two boxes are very different also, not only is the font slightly different but the text on the side where the ingredients are located have been printed in different places. The real one takes up mostly all of the side whereas the fake one has been printed in the centre. Also they contain completely different ingredients. The barcode is another thing which is very different: the fake one has a white box around it and the real one does not. The box for the fake one was also very cheap and as shown in the pictures it completely fell apart. The biggest giveaway that the second eyeshadow is fake is the little mirror and sponge applicator which are in the bottom of the eyeshadow... M.A.C have never sold eyeshadows in packaging like this, not only that but the mirror and applicator are also very cheap feeling.

Hopefully these pictures can help you to avoid fake M.A.C, there could be any kind of chemicals in the fake eyeshadows that may be very damaging or toxic. M.A.C products are pricey because you are paying for the guarantee of quality and reliability. I bought this fake eyeshadow from eBay, which I not recommend. There are so many fakes online and I suggest that if you wish to buy M.A.C online that you use a trusted website like the M.A.C website or somewhere like Debenhams or House of Fraser.

What I Bought In Newcastle (Haul)

So recently I went to Newcastle for a few days, and of course did excellent amounts of shopping. In the picture above are the beauty products I purchased along with a couple of other things I've been really liking lately.

The first things I bought we're two eyeshadows form MAC, which I am super pleased with as the closest MAC store to where I live is about an hour and a half drive away - sad face. The eyeshadow on the left is from the Mineralize range in the colour Invincible Light. This colour is amazingly shimmery and is great for adding a little bit of sparkle to any eye makeup. The shadow on the right is a regular one in the colour Stars n' Rockets which is the most perfect shade of purple I've ever used. I think it would be fair to say that I'm in love with my purchases from MAC - the eyeshadows are so pigmented and soft and I can feel that I will be buying more online in the near future. I also find that these eyeshadows blend like a dream which makes doing eye makeup a breeze.

Next I went to The Body Shop where I bought a few things. I purchased the Lily Cole Shimmer Cubes which I absolutely adore! not only do they come in a box which can hold all 4 cubes, the cubes themselves come in their own little boxes which means you can throw one or two of them in your bag without having to take all 4. The colours are also really pretty pink and purple shades which can be used to create the perfect girly summer day/night look.

I also bought the Lily Cole Lip and Cheek dome, which is kind of like a cream blusher thats really easy to apply and can also be used on the lips. I think this is a great idea as the colour is also super cute and girly. Finally form The Body Shop I bought the Lily Cole liquid liner in a shimmery purple colour, this looks especially nice when used with the Lily Cole Shimmer Cubes. Its perfect for adding some extra colour to a look.

These last two things weren't actually purchased when I was in newcastle but I bought them just before I went away and have been really loving them. On the left is a Bronzer from the Marks and Spencers Limited range, I really like this bronzer because it is completely matte and it's also really soft. On the left is the Avon super extend mascara which I really like because even the smallest amount makes my eyelashes look so much longer and every girl wants longer lashes!

I would also like to apologise for the lack of posts over the past few weeks, I've had a super busy July but hopefully I will be able to post more regularly and hopefully you will enjoy this post too!

Tanning Product Reviews!

Since summer is quickly approaching I thought I'd post about something that might be of help especially if you're extremely pale like I am.. I've tried a few popular tanning products in my time and I'm going to quickly tell you what I think about some of them.

The first one I will talk about it Garnier Ambre Solaire no streaks dry face mist. The one I used was in light as I'm possibly the palest person you'll ever meet. To be honest I'm not a huge fan of this product simply because I've been using it for the past weeks and notice absolutely no change in my colour. I can't tell if its just because my face gets washed every day, even though I use it after washing, or if it's just not a great product. I agree that it causes no streaks but only because I don't see any difference since using it. I love the fact that it feels dry while applied and how easy it is to use but unfortunately, for me, this product has been very disappointing and I wouldn't chose to use it again.

The next product is L'OrĂ©al Sublime Bronze self tanning dry mist and again I used this product in the lightest shade which was Fair Skin. I really liked this product quite a lot. Its really easy to apply and dries in seconds and the great thing is your tan develops in 3 - 4 hours. I have never experienced the colour to be orange or too dark. I would suggest using this product every second day as I found if you use it every day it can turn slightly orange. Another thing I found if that this product can be a little streaky, but only slightly, and this disappears after a second or third application, I'd also recommend using this after showering and waiting another 24 hours until showering again or you may end up a bit patchy.. as I have experienced. I really like this product and would definitely use it again simply because its really easy to apply.

The final product is definitely my favourite one: Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion. Basically this product is a tinted moisturiser which is great because it helps avoid having darker patches on the drier parts on your skin. I love this product and I use it almost everyday in the spring summer simply because it tans you very gradually and your tan builds up slowly and more naturally each day you use it. It can take a while to dry but it's definitely worth the wait as it leaves your skin feeling super soft as well as tanned. I would say out of the 3 products this one gives the most natural looking tan as it builds up over time, although after applying the product I do usually see a slight change after 4 - 5 hours. For best results I also suggest exfoliating dry areas of your skin before hand such as your elbows and knees and these can turn slightly darker than expected. I've never experienced an orange looking tan with this product but it can be slightly patchy if you don't rub it into your skin well enough. Sadly, for me, I can't use this on my face as it is too oily and I already have very oily skin but I think it would be fine for people with drier skin. This is by far my favourite and I use it in Fair to Normal skin.

If you would like to suggest any other tanning products to me then feel free to leave a comment and I'll check them out! Also I will be posting a lot more after this month as I will have finished my exams. Happy Tanning!
